Hot & Smokey Mezcal Margaritas
My partner and I generally reserve cocktails for the weekend, particularly Friday evening!
We love experimenting with new and fun recipes and pretending like we know what we’re doing when it comes to bartending (we don’t, but its fun). Mezcal is a liquor that I have tried many times and very much enjoyed but I never attempted to use it in a cocktail. If you’ve never had it, it’s like tequila but smokier and smoother. Well.. we decided to give it a shot in a jalapeño margarita and let me tell you… it was DELICIOUS!
This cocktail isn’t super spicy, as its only the essence of the muddled jalapeño, but you still get that spicy flavor that pairs perfectly with the smokiness of the mezcal. For an added kick, we used the Trader Joe’s chili lime seasoning to rim the glass. Tajin would be amazing as well. This was a perfect Friday evening drink and would be awesome for a crowd, paired with any number of my Mexican-inspired recipes 😉
Enjoy (and drink responsibly!)
